Gourmet Galaxy is a boutique catering company with a flair for the extraordinary. We’ve been creating unique events for individual, corporate and community clients in the Toronto area since 1994. We specialize in full service event catering featuring wholesome contemporary cuisine, artistic presentation and expert event management.



Our food combines the freshest ingredients and unique flavour blends with a healthy approach to food preparation, resulting in meals that are nutritiously sound as well as delicious. Inspired by the varied culinary traditions of North America, the Mediterranean, the Middle East, Asia, the Caribbean and Latin America we offer custom menus for all occasions and dietary preferences including vegetarian and vegan.

Andrew Cohen brings an abundance of passion and dedication to his role at the helm of Gourmet Galaxy. A University of Toronto degree in political science and economics may seem like an unlikely route to a catering kitchen, but Andrew’s creative and artistic talent combined with his sharp entrepreneurial instincts drew him into a culinary business career. Andrew has worked on thousands of events ranging from weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, engagement parties, anniversary parties, birthdays, fundraising galas, corporate annual general meetings, company town halls, pre and post concert receptions, high school, college and university graduations etc.. Andrew offers a unique approach to every client event.

What information is needed in preparing a quotation?

Please inform us of your function date, location, approximate guest count, occasion, time frame, preferred menu, and style of service. This will help us in preparing initial event plan.

Do you do site inspections?

We want to fully understand the logistics involved. We will schedule an onsite meeting at your convenience.

Do you do tastings?

We do tastings for larger functions and prefer to schedule them approximately two to three months before the function date.

Can you help us in planning some of the other aspects of our function?

It would be our pleasure to help you with bar lists, décor and floral suggestions, room layout and set up as well as referring photographers, videographers, graphic artists , calligraphers, musicians etc…

Do you sponsor or donate food for non profit organizations ?

A large portion of our work is for voluntary and cultural organizations. We know how to plan carefully when budgets are modest and can work at discounted rates to create tastefully appropriate events.

Can you cater a wedding at our cottage?

It would be our pleasure to assist you in planning this joyous occasion. We will work on a plan taking into account logistical considerations. We have worked on many out of town events.

Can we supply some of the food at the function?

This can add a layer of complication so generally it’s not something we favour. Exceptions can be made for desserts or various items made by the host.

What is the protocol on tipping servers and bartenders?

Gratuities are discretionary, however it’s common practice to tip the wait and bar staff at the end of a function. We can offer suggestions for your particular event.
